When Absalom’s full sister, Tamar, was raped by his half brother Amnon (2 Sam 13), Absalom planned and achieved bloody revenge by luring Am-non to his death at the festival at Baal-hazor, near Ephraim, during the time of sheepshearing (2 Sam 13:23–29).
